Best screws for hinges on heavy shed door

l1.25 inch construction screws exterior

What are the best screws to use for fastening hinges on heavy shed doors? I need something that is rust resistant and long enough 2"-3" to reach the studs. Was considering deck screws (i.e., Spax) - but not sure. Thanks!

Hi Rob,

This is a great question!

I love using 'Construction screws'.

I have been using these recently and you can't beat them for ease of use ( they have a star bit drive!) and functionality.

They have exterior and interior. I mainly shop at lowes so here's what I get ( see the pictures I included with this post).

Lowes used to have a massive section just dedicated to drywall screws and other assorted common screws, now it's mostly geared towards these construction screws I am referring you to. You just can't beat them!

Good luck and please send me pictures of your shed. I'd love to see it when it's finished.
