Adding Exterior French Doors

Could the shed plans accommodate adding French doors instead or what is needed to make these additions? Our plan is to build a garden shed that doubles as a design element for our landscape. Thank you

Adding French Doors
by: John

The only thing that you need to double check is the wall height of the shed plans you are purchasing. Typically you will need a rough opening height of 82", along with a 2x6 header for a 5' wide opening. If your french doors are wider than that, and you are placing them on a load bearing wall, then you will need to go with a 2x8 header.

Please send me an email to shedking@gmail.com and let me know which plans you have in mind and I can help you with the dimensions you will need to accomodate your french door installation.

Hope this helps to answer your question!
